Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Matar or Green Pea Parathas:
- 2 cups boiled Green Peas
- 1 tsp shredded or chopped Ginger
- 1 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1 tsp Dry Mango or Amchur powder
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 small bunch chopped Coriander Leaves
- 2 chopped Green Chillies
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tsp crushed Coriander Seeds
- FOR THE PARATHA DOUGH-
- 3 cups Wheat Flour or Sharbati Gehun Aata
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Ghee
- as needed Water
- as needed Extra Ghee or Oil
Steps to make to make Matar or Green Pea Parathas
- Prepare the dough with the ingredients listed under it. Leave it aside for 20 minutes at least.
- Add crushed Cumin Seeds, Asafoetida and the shredded Ginger to a bowl with boiled and coarsely mashed Green Peas. Also add the chopped Green Chillies, Red Chilli powder, Salt, Coriander Leaves and the dry Mango powder along with the rest of the ingredients mentioned. Mix well and it's all ready to use.
- Divide the dough into equal sized balls. Roll into small discs at first. Place 2-3 tablespoon of the filling on each and seal the edges carefully. Now roll into Parathas and cook on both the sides smearing with Ghee or Oil. Lip-smacking Parathas are ready to be enjoyed with White Butter and Raita of your choice.
