- For Dough
- 1 cup maida
- 1/2 cup water
- Pinch salt
- Pinch turmeric powder
- 3 tbsp oil
- As required Ghee for drizzle on to puran poli
- As needed Rice flour or maida for rolling poli
- For Stuffing
- 1 cup chanadal
- 1 cup jaggery
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 tsp jaiphal / nutmeg powder
- Pinch kesar
- 1 tsp ghee
Steps to make to make Puran poli
- First soak chana dal over night.In the morning pressure cook chana dal adding with required amount of water till 4 whistle.after that remove water from boiled chana dal and add jaggery and cook till it thickens add ghee and mix it.then sieve chana dal by pressing through strainer and cook completely
- Then take maida in mixie jar add water oil, salt and turmeric and churn for 30sec. Do this process for more 2 times add again oil and churn for a 5 sec and remove to plate and knead it and keep aside for 1 hour.dough should be soft as bread dough.
- After 1 hour take a ball from maida dough and roll little poori with rice flour and fill a stuffing and close dough like kachori and remove extra dough.and just press with palm and roll in rice flour and make a poli as thin as possible with light hand.
- Transfer rolled poli to hot tawa and rost it till done, remove on plate and drizzle ghee on poli and serve to lord ganesha with milk and extra ghee.
